Small Town, Big Dreams
Headquartered in the bustling Midwest town of Mooresville, Indiana, MDDHosting was launched 2007. Their website copy emphasizes customer service and the datacenter they use in Denver, Colorado.
Onto the main attraction of this website: the shared hosting. Compared to other shared hosting services, the two offered plans are a bit pricier, but the quality you’ll receive is well worth is few extra dollars.
The basic plan will get you unlimited databases, data transfer, and emails, but only one website and a bit of disk space. This makes it ideal if it’s your first time jumping into web hosting. Upgrade to the advanced plan, and that disk space and domain cap become unlimited. It’s a big price jump, but for established webmasters and small businesses, this is the perfect plan.
Both plans also come with a free SSL certificate, which is quite nice. Even if you run an obscure WordPress blog, you don’t want that gray “Not Secure” icon in the corner scaring away users. MDDHosting states these plans are intended for up to 350,000 visitors a month.
But what if you have higher traffic? In that case, it has “premium hosting.” This appears to be an advanced form of shared hosting, perhaps with fewer users per server.
These plans are a bit less liberal with the unlimited features, but the bandwidth and storage offered will work with a majority of moderate traffic websites. There are a ton of features as well. From Softaculous (which is a one-click installer of hundreds of apps) to an email host to compatibility with pretty much everything you’ll need, there’s no skimping on the feature list.
Large-Scale VPS Hosting
Managed VPS hosting is the final stop. At a first glance, it seems very pricey, rivaling that of a dedicated server. However, the specs are top-notch. It’d be quite a feat if you managed to exceed your data transfer limit or run down the network on even the most basic plan.
cPanel / WHM is included, as is the former on all other plans. The only detrimental part of all this is that LiteSpeed, Softaculous, and others — free on the shared plans — come at a small monthly fee. However, the full root access, ability to reboot whenever you want, and seven-day snapshot backups more than justify this small price.
There’s also reseller hosting, which comes at close to the same price as premium hosting. It includes WHMCS — a billing and support system — for free. Not a bad deal if you’re in that business.
Other MDDHosting Services
Though not known for it, MDDHosting also has a domain checker and registration. It also sells SSL certificates. From entry level sites to expansive businesses, there’s an affordable way to get your green address bar. And finally, there’s a very cheap spam filtration tool from SpamExperts.
There’s not a ton to buy, but if you’re in the market for a host already, stopping by to pick up a domain name, a better SSL certificate, or spam protection might be helpful.
Top-Notch Software and Infrastructure
For computer specialists, there’s a lot that may interest you. The About Us page provides the details of its datacenter in Denver, and it all sounds pretty impressive.
Their Litespeed-powered servers are said to be up to nine times faster than standard Apache. It also states that it can replace Apache servers while still retaining the necessary compatibility. Litespeed is probably the reason MDDHosting is so well known for its speed.
All servers have 48+ cores along with 256 GB of RAM. That’s for the entire shared network, of course! A normal shared plan gets about 1% of that. But with 250,000 files/folders available, along with 100 processes, it’ll be hard to hit any sort of cap. And the premium shared hosting only doubles this.
Every plan provides way more than the average user will ever need, ensuring that a majority of customers never run into any annoying limits.

There are not a lot of negatives to this host, to be honest. Small-time startup or thriving business, you won’t be unhappy with the service provided. But there are a few types of people who just won’t be able to fit with this host.
Very Large Companies
While the vast majority of websites are covered, popular websites and booming businesses might run into issues. Though the VPS servers have overwhelmingly high specs, it might not be enough for a website of this size.
In this case, your website would be better off with a cloud or dedicated server, neither of which MDD provides. The terms of service state that VPS plans do get a 30-day money back guarantee, so if you’re not sure, there’s little harm in trying. Plus, the support team would be more than happy to help you figure it out.
An Obscure Host
While I certainly don’t advocate this mindset, some users prefer a company that’s deep-rooted, well-established, popular, and has visible branding. Think HostGator. While it’s understandable that some prefer a well-known name, there are opportunities here.
Why Host Here?
Why use this host? Besides its intense commitment to both its employees and its users, its great customer support, and the feature-rich plans — what more reason do you need, really?
Integrity and Dedication
MDDHosting is truly a diamond in the rough. According to the company’s website, it takes pride in providing people with the highest quality servers and customer support.
Unlike many hosts, advertising isn’t its main focus — it’s on improving its facilities. At one time, the company had servers limited by the physical drive bays, so it was impossible to offer unlimited bandwidth. But the company put its funds to use in upgrading this, so now customers never have to worry about running out of space.
Lightning-Fast Customer Support
Email and live chat are available and strongly encouraged for use, and the sales and billing department is available by phone as well. A knowledgebase and a community forum are also provided for your use.
Overkill Speed and Features
A host can never be too fast, or provide too much bandwidth or space, or have too many features. Compared to similar plans, MDDHosting really packs a punch. Most hosts don’t offer a free SSL certificate and cPanel along with “unlimited everything,” or the dizzying amount of features premium and VPS hosting plans provide.
We’ve talked about integrity in hosts before, but rarely does it show so plainly. MDDHosting is happy to tell you about how much bandwidth per number of visitors you’ll need, so you won’t be tricked into buying a bigger plan than what’s required. Its prices may be higher than average, but the company is upfront about this and there are plenty of promotions. And the site has tons to say about its datacenter, its servers, the work that goes into them.
Couple all of this with a solid track record in customer support and a true respect for its staff, and you get a standout company that speaks to the needs of a variety of individuals and businesses.
